Unbonded Overlay
An HMA overlay over an existing HMA or PCC pavement, generally less than 25 mm (1 in) in thickness. – Increase in the pavement structure of an existing concrete or composite pavement by addition of jointed plain, jointed reinforced or continuously reinforced concrete pavement placed on a separator layer (usually an asphalt layer) designed to prevent bonding to the existing pavement.
